MWR's goal is to provide quality care and placement assistance to the stray, abandoned, neglected, abused, and surrendered Westies that come into our care. We provide appropriate foster and veterinary care, proper nourishment, and give plenty of love and attention while we find permanent, loving homes for our adoptable dogs.

Our focus is on the welfare of the Westie and the need to place each dog in an environment appropriate for that dog's background, temperament, and needs. The needs of the homeless Westie are our primary concern and finding safe loving, lifelong homes for these Westies our primary mission.

While MWR focuses on Westies in Maryland and surrounding states, often our resources and volunteers allow us to help dogs in states further away. MWR is not a shelter and has no paid employees.
